Job as Medical Doctors - UPSC invite application

The Combined Medical Services Examination for recruitment to the services and posts coming under the purview of the process will be conducted by the Union Public Service Commission on 30th June, 2013 at Agartala, Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Allahabad, Bangalore, Bareilly, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cuttack, Dehradun, Delhi, Dharwad, Dispur, Gangtok, Hyderabad, Imphal, Itanagar, Jaipur, Jammu, Jorhat, Kochi, Kohima, Kolkata, Lucknow, Madurai, Mumbai, Nagpur, Panaji (Goa), Patna, Port Blair, Raipur, Ranchi, Sambalpur, Shillong, Shimla, Srinagar, Thiruvananthapuram, Tirupati,
The Services/Posts to which recruitment is to be made include (i) Assistant Divisional Medical Officer in the Railways (ii) Assistant Divisional Medical Officer in Indian Ordnance Factories Health Service (iii) Junior Scale Posts in Central Health Services (iv) General Duty Medical Officer Gr II in East Delhi Municipal Corporation, North Delhi Municipal Corporation and South Delhi Municipal Corporation (v) General Duty Medical Officer in New Delhi Municipal Council
The number of vacancies to be filled up is being finalised. The posts reserved for PH categories are given in the detailed Notification of 6th April, 2o13 available athttp://upsconline.nic.in/mainmenu2.php. Reservation will also be made for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes as may be fixed by the government.
A candidate may apply for admission to the examination in respect of any one or more of the services/posts mentioned. They will be required to indicate preferences for services/posts at the appropriate time. Even if a candidate wishes to be admitted for more than one service/post he/she need send in only one application.
Applicants must generally be Indian Citizens. Exceptions to this are given in the detailed Notification.
Age:Applicant must not have attained the age of 32 years as on 1st January, 2013. He/she must have been born not earlier than 2nd January, 1981. The upper age limit is relaxed up to a maximum of 5 years for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe and up to a maximum of three years in the case of candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes who are eligible to avail of reservation applicable to such candidates. More details on the relaxation in age aregiven in the detailed Notification.
Educational Qualification: Applicant should have passed the written and practical parts of the final M.B.B.S. Examination. A person who has appeared or is yet to appear at the final M.B.B.S Examination may also apply. Such candidates will be admitted to the examination provisionally and subject to production of proof of having passed the written and practical part of the final M.B.B.S. Examination along with the detailed application which will be required to be submitted to the Commission by the candidates who qualify in the written part of the examination. A candidate who is yet to complete the compulsory rotating internship is eligible for admission to the examination. But if selected, he/she will be appointed only aftercompletion of compulsory rotating internship.
Physical and Medical Standards: Candidates must be physically and medically fit according to the physical/medical standards for the Combined Medical Services Examination 2013 as per regulations contained in Appendix III to the Rules of the Examination.
Fee: Females/SC/ST applicants/PH applicants are exempted from payment of fee. For others, the Fee is Rs.200/-, which can be paid by cash at any Branch of SBI or by using Net Banking facility of State Bank of India/ State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur/Sate Bank of Hyderabad/State Bank of Mysore/State Bank of Patiala /State Bank of Travancore or by using Visa/Master Credit/Debit Card. No fee exemption is available to OBC applicants.
Application: Application (Part I and II) can be submitted only online, athttp://upsconline.nic.in/mainmenu2.php#till 11.59 p.m on 6th May, 2013.
Detailed instruction for filling up the online application in two parts is available at the website. Applicant should decide the choice of the centre while applying online. All the applicants are required to provide valid & active email i.d. while filling up online application form as the Commission may use electronic mode for contacting them.
Only one application should be submitted. However, if due to any unavoidable situation, if an applicant submits another/multiple applications, then he must ensure that the application with the higher (Registration ID) RID is complete in all respects like applicants' details, examination centre, photograph, signature, fee etc. In such cases, only the applications with higher RID will be accepted and the fee paid against one RID will not be adjusted against any other RID.
e-admission Certificate: Eligible candidates shall be issued an e-Admission Certificate three weeks before the date of examination. The e-Admission Certificate will be made available on the UPSC website (www.upsc.gov.in) for being downloaded by candidates. No Admission Certificate will be sent by post.
Scheme of Examination: The examination shall be conducted in two Parts. Part I will be a written examination carrying 500 marks and Part II will be a personality Test carrying 100 marks for those qualifying in Part I.
There will be two Papers for the written part, each carrying a maximum of 250 marks and each of two hours duration. The components and syllabus of two Papers and the weightage to different components in the two papers are given in the Notification.
The written examination in both the papers will be completely of objective (Multiple choice answers) type. The question Papers (Test Booklets) will be set in English only. Each question will be followed by four alternatives. For each wrong answer, one third (0.33) of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty. If a candidate gives more than one answer, it will be treated as a wrong answer even if one of the given answers happens to be correct. There will be same penalty as above for that question. Candidates are not permitted to use calculators for answering objective type papers. They should not bring the same inside the Examination Hall.
Candidates must write the Papers in their own hand. In no circumstances will they be allowed the help of a scribe to write answers for them. The Commission has the discretion to fix qualifying marks in any or both the papers of the examination.
The Personality Test carrying 100 marks for those who qualify in the written examination is intended to serve as a supplement to the written examination for testing the General Knowledge and ability of the candidates in the fields of their academic study and also in the nature of a personality test to assess the candidate’s intellectual curiosity, critical powers of assimilation, balance of judgment and alertness of mind, ability for social cohesion, integrity of character, initiative and capability for leadership.
